well... it's started... and yes maybe we've jumped the gun a little... but I just don't care. Smores, beach walks, ice cream... and yes, even painting rocks! the warm weather is coming people! it's coming! and although today is a rather abysmal day, yesterday was phenomenal and last week was just plain peachy! We took advantage of the warm weather dusted off the old bbq and made some smores... as well as hotdogs and steaks... but those were different days :D
{Rupe's first smore. He quickly figured out that the good bit was in the middle and discarded his cracker and marshmallow.. }

Painting rocks. I always remember painting shells in the summer with my cousins, as we were not at the beach this particular day and a rock is far more manly than a shell... we painted rocks! Rupe was soooo into it! His little buddy Tyler or "Gyger" as Rupe likes to call him was with us and so we trecked out to the backyard in search of the perfect rocks!
{He's very serious when he's painting :D }
Even though we still had to be in jackets and toques we decided it was an ice cream day. You know those days? where your belly just screams for ice cream! And ice cream dipped in chocolate? shoot. The little one loves ice cream too... as you can see in one of the photos below... the world ends when it gets taken away. We've been working very hard on his speech lately, and so this was the perfect time to practice! "more" "please" "done"
This child is determined to give me a heart attack. He prefers now to go down stairs by himself holding the rail. he can make it down the many flights of stairs in our house holding the rail with just one hand. And I've watched him and he is so careful and so sturdy doing it. But he's not even two yet! It stresses me out. But he is just so determined and so proud when he gets to the bottom.
We are so lucky.
Everyone had the same idea this particularly beautiful evening! Rock throwers, beach wanders and treasure finders alike joined us on our evening stroll.
Shark toque has been tossed aside... it is now all about the owl toque. Grammie's got skills.
This child is obsessed with not having boogers. Probably our fault for picking at him. haha. So now he will blow his nose on whatever he can find. This moment it was his blanket.
More moments like these to come... bring on the warm weather!!!!!!!!!!

Loved the blog and he certainly is growing up fast. Interesting about the smores; it would be fun trying to see him get the "good stuff" out, ha! He definitely is a little beach boy with a great summer to come. You get the greatest pictures.
ReplyDeleteGreat post - love him painting the rock - he is so cute in his owl hat. Lovely pictures once again
ReplyDeleteSo many pictures great pictures of Rupert! Love them all. Also feel like I've been to that beach when Todd and I were in Nanaimo (when we should have been in Victoria;)).
