playtime...

Our boy loves to play! I love this stage so much! He is just figuring out that all his toys can interact together and it is so fun watching him create and play. Of course his favorite thing to play is trains. He can spend an entire evening just lining up his trains and driving them around the tracks.

{Smiley boy ready to play}

We've recently got some of Colin's old playmobile out for Rupe to play with with his trains... and he loves it!

Cheesey boy. This is the face he makes when we tell him to smile :D

Conductor Rupe gets to drive the train today. His passengers include Hobbes, Ottis Lee, Buzz Lightyear and Snowy!

toot! toot!

Rupe also loves playing with his buddies. This is a little buddy that we met at gym pals named Jaxton. Jaxton likes to head straight to our magazine rack and promptly empty it :D

Sneak hug!

Little helpers. The boys sat in the kitchen and played as I made dinner :D

We tried to make a Thomas convert out of Jaxton while he was over... but decided our church directory was a little more amusing to look at.

More hugs!

Thanksgiving...

So this one time I decided to start a blog and for the most part kept up at it... but sadly have not really been keeping up with it lately... womp womp. So these next two posts are catch up posts. and then hopefully this week will be more recent... fingers crossed!

This blog comes with a warning for the first couple of photos... mainly warning for those out there that do not care for swarms of birds... ahem Aunty Megan... you have been warned.

Over Thanksgiving holidays we went down to Victoria to spend some time with the family, immediate and extended! hooray! One day we thought we'd venture down to the marina and feed the ducks... alas there were no ducks to be found... just seagulls and lots of them!

Rupe was not dissuaded, he stood his ground amongst all the birds!

This particular seagull looks bigger than my child... and that is saying something :D

Grammie shows us how it's done. Rupert loves diggers! he could have spent the whole day playing with the digger... didn't like sitting on it... but liked helping!

We were very thrilled to get to spend time with Aunties, Uncles and cousins!
{the beautiful Halle girl}

A treasure hunt! Today's treasure... chestnuts!

Rupe's treasures.

Halle's treasures. Cousin MyMy was sleeping during this adventure... but there was enough chestnuts found that I'm sure she shared in the booty.

On the digger with Grampy.

And now Grandma is wrangled in to do some digging! I think that's everyone!

We had a wonderful time with all the family under one roof! Can't wait till Christmas! I am loving these little people grow up together.

the haircut...

Another late comer post :D The day my baby boy started looking like a little man! His first big haircut performed by Grammie and overseen/bribed by Grandma :D

{the bribe... tastey cookies and chocolate}

{the first snips}

{but I like my long hair!!!!!!!!}

{hugs from momma}

Fall photo shoot #2

Well it's that time of year again... fall photo shoot time! last year Rupe was just 6 months old with his cute little pudgy face and his new skill of sitting on his own. What a difference a year makes! this year he is tearing around on his own exploring EVERYTHING! Yesterday we thought we would take advantage of the beautiful fall colors and park just down the road! So this post is a bit of a Rupe overload... but what post isn't really. The tearful pic is because a huge digger drove down the road and I had placed him in a leaf pile that he couldn't get out of to chase the digger. We love diggers. (I did actually help him out and we went and watched the digger down the road :D ) So without further ado here is our, now annual, Fall photo shoot!

ps. last two sets of photos were Rupert showing where his various body parts are. Eyes, ears, tongue, nose, belly. A favorite activity.
