Lost files of summer... part 1

So I was looking through some of our photos from the past little while and realized that I hadn't posted a ton of photos! oops. So if you were wondering about small pockets of time that went undocumented... here they are :D

The first set are from our time in Victoria with the Edelman girls... and Steve :D

(Brave Maya checking out the birds including some monstrous peacocks!}

{Not so brave Aunty Megan hiding behind her dad-man.}

{Monstrous Peacocks! watch out!}

{Rupert chose to eat the bread instead of give it to the ducks! If there was any doubt to how he got so big... it has been laid to rest. My kid likes to eat :D }

{Daddy's stylin' new glasses}

{Grammie the baby wrangler}

{On a mission...}

{Big cousin Halle, who Rupert adores... flying a kite}

{Little buddies, love Maya's scrunchy little face!}

{Aunty time. Had to get all my cuddles and giggles in with my two favorite little girls!}

{Such a beautiful momma they have!}

{Beacon Hill Drive In was a must for a summer's eve... Rupert knew just what to do!}

Seriously adorable and fun little people that we were blessed to spend time with this summer!
Part two next time... more adorable little people!

Falling...

Oh the Fall Season how I adore you! Particularly the bite in the air that allows me to don my toque!
I love the verse in Ecclesiastes that talks about there being different seasons to life. This season whether you call in Fall, back to school, back to work etc... is a busy one for everyone I think. I don't do well with business... I get stressed out rather easily. I am trying to take it all in stride and realize that this is just a "season" and that it will slow down. But in the midst of all the business I am glad for evening walks and time spent with my family and friends! I just don't want to miss a minute of Rupert's precious little life and I want him to get to experience everything this beautiful world has to offer him. I think my biggest lesson this "season" will be how to prioritize my time and my life! I pray for God's help on this one because I don't think my priorities are always His priorities :D Although I can think of one priority that we share... he's cute and wears a toque.

He also likes to throw rocks...

And sit in trees...

And lift heavy objects...

And hug logs...

And wear bear sweaters...

And looks freakishly adorable while riding on his daddy's shoulders...

Did you figure out the priority that both God and I share? Oh you're so smart! haha. My prayer is that I don't get so busy with work, church, friends and activities that I miss the quiet little teachable moments that I have with my boy. I know they last only for a minute, and I don't want them to rush by!

Besides our beautiful evening walks, Fall has brought some rather fun activities for Rupe and I. Last time I posted about Gym Pals, which is AWESOME!!! But we have also been going to library time for babies which is also super fun. Although I think Rupert is at the top of the age range so he got a little fidgety towards the end. But there were stories, songs and bubbles to hold his ever changing attention. We went with our buddies Arden and her son Cason.

Buddies

Rupert has also taken to playing dress up. His favorite thing to wear? Daddy's shirt. He found it in our room and tried to put it on saying "puh" (please). So I put him on and he proudly wore it for the evening, pointing to it whenever I asked him where daddy's shirt was.

Ok... so I posted some photos of Rupe at Neck Point park from last year... LOOK HOW CUTE HE WAS!!!!!!!!!! Well he's still cute, but a lot bigger, scroll down to see some photos of us there the other night! Crazy!

{Rupert strutting... I love catching expressions on him that I've never seen before. So cute!}

Well that's our intro to Fall... I'm so excited for all this season will bring!!!!!!

Gym Pals...

Well Fall begins tomorrow and I am glad for it! I'm excited about the Fall weather, the Fall clothing and most of all Fall activities! Going for walks in the crisp Fall air, crunching and finding leaves, drink hot beverages, going to pumpkin patches and this year GYM PALS!!!!!!!!! Gym Pals is a class I signed Rupert up for at our local community center. Basically it's a gym time for 1 and 2 year olds! They get to go play with balls, slides, hockey sticks, parachutes etc. So much fun and so cute! Our first day we went with the lovely Kim and her adorable son Soren!

Our time together started off with all the children gathering around a parachute while we took attendance and got to shake the parachute. There were a lot of squirmy children raring to go, my son being one of them! When they were released Rupert ran straight for the balls, of course! But there were lots of fun things to do! My favorite part was watching all these little toddlers set out on their missions! You know what I'm talking about! When a toddler gets something in their mind that they want to do and then they swing their arms with a determined look on their faces and go and do it! So picture that, but with over 20 kids! So cute! Why here's a little mission walker now!

{Kim and Soren looking far too cute on their little scooters!}

{Rupert and I not looking quite as graceful as Kim and Soren :D }

{Rupert trying to show Soren some love... Soren quickly dodging said love haha}

{Soren working on his slap shot.}

{Rupert touching girls feet}

Rupert loved the slide and actually was able to climb up the ladder which he has never done before! He was rather proud of himself and if I do say so myself, a little cocky!

We had a fantastic time and are looking forward to going again this Friday! Hooray for Gym Pals! (side note... I have met two mom's in the community this week that I met last week at Gym Pals! So excited to be getting to know more and more people around here!)

Victoria...

ahhhh... I feel like "better late than never" is becoming a common theme of my blog... sorry blogging friends! Well this is a follow up to our trip to Calgary. This was the second week of our holidays that we spent in Victoria with Colin's mom and dad... aka Grammy and Grampie. It was a lovely and relaxing week. We went to the beach, we rode trains, went to the museum and just enjoyed each other's company.

{Rupert and his Grampie}

Rupert is a lover of all animals. He rarely shows fear, which is a little worrisome to the momma! So where else would we go for such an animal lover? The petting zoo of course! He absolutely loved the goats. And there were babies too which were simply adorable. We spent most of our time following the goats around and sometimes even brushing them! Too much fun!

Had to stop at the park and go for a ride on the bulldozer as it looked just like Byron the Bulldozer from Thomas :D

He may look happy in this photo, but this was certainly not the norm for this boy in the pool. Sadly he didn't really enjoy the kiddie pool that we so lovingly filled with warm water for him. He was ok to stand in it and have water poured around him, but as soon as he got his clothes wet the world ended and his little pool was flooded with tears! What a little monkey!

So these next two photos are a little snap shot(s) of our evening in Sydney at the night market. There was a group of people playing music on the street and letting the kids join the band with some shakers. Rupert went nuts! He absolutely loved it! He ran around shaking and giggling! I think the crowd enjoyed him too :D

All Aboard!!!!!!!!! A beautiful day for a train ride!

I don't know if Rupert was nervous or just taking it all in, but he had a very serious face the whole time and clenched very tightly to his little ticket. Such cuteness.

Oh how my boy loves the beach... good thing I don't mind a little gross...

...and speaking of gross... yah that's right that's poop he's touching.. not real poop of course... but it sure did feel squishy! It was part of the Natural History Exhibit at the museum!

It had an amazing kid's section where kids could put on costumes and play with very cool things all under the shelter of sheer tents. We had a blast! And were so excited for Rupert's first of many trips to the museum and hopefully his love for it will be as big as ours!

Well we had a wonderful holiday, back to real life blogging! :D Also... thought I should post photos of our Victoria trip on here because it seems like some Aunties don't comment on facebook anymore.... uh oh no she didn't..... yah I did :D love love love
